Who we are

This website is run by Skyline Firestopping Ltd, company number 13434112, registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is 2 Perpetual House, Station Road, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, RG9 1AF. We are the data controller for the personal details collected through this site. What we collect, and when

We collect only what you type into the forms on this site: your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to add it, your message or project details, and, if you tell us, how you heard about us. We also note the page you enquired from and how you reached this site, such as the search engine or link that brought you here, so we can tell which of our efforts lead to enquiries. Every form tells you at the point of collection what will happen next. This site has no user accounts and takes no payments.

What we use your details for

We use your details to send you what you asked for, such as a guide you requested, and to reply to your enquiry. We may follow up about that enquiry. You can tell us to stop at any time by replying to any message or by contacting us directly, and we will stop. We rely on your request as the basis for this, and on our legitimate interest in knowing which of our efforts lead to enquiries for the note of how you reached us. You can object to that at any time.

Form submissions are screened automatically by an AI service before the team is alerted, to filter out spam. That screening only decides whether your message is flagged for a person to check. Nothing about you is decided by a machine alone.

Where your details are kept

Enquiries are stored in private storage on the secure cloud infrastructure that runs this website, delivered to us by an email service acting on our instructions, and listed in a private spreadsheet the team works from. Visit statistics are held by analytics software that we run ourselves. These providers process your details only to provide those services to us. Some of them are based outside the UK, and where that is the case the transfer is covered by safeguards recognised under UK law. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Cookies

This website counts visits without cookies, using analytics software that we run ourselves. It records the pages viewed, the site you came from and a rough location from your internet connection, and it does not identify you. You can turn it off at any time using the Privacy choices link at the foot of every page. With your permission we also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies so that returning visits can be counted, and we may record how pages are used, with anything you type hidden. Neither runs until you choose Accept, and you can change your choice at any time using the same link. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep your details

We keep enquiry records for two years from the date of the enquiry, or for as long as any work that follows from it needs them, and then delete them. Submissions filed as spam are deleted after ninety days. Visit statistics are kept only in aggregate. Google Analytics data, where you have allowed it, is kept for fourteen months, and any recording of how a page was used is kept for thirty days. If you ask us to delete your details, we will, unless a legal duty requires us to keep a record.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, ask us to delete them, object to how we use them, ask us to restrict how we use them, and ask for them in a portable form. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
